Wednesday, November 23, 2011 - On Tuesday at 04:11 hours, Refton Volunteers were alerted to an Engine Company Stand-By transfer to Station 5-7 (Quarryville) while they operated at the scene of a two alarm commercial building fire at Stoner, Incoporated.  RescueEngine 5-9-1 made the response minutes later and was released from Stand-By two hours later.  The Beaver Valley Rescue Company answer no calls for service while standing-by for Station 5-7.

Later on that evening, the 5-9 crews split for two different drill/training opportunities.  The Volunteers who are currently enrolled in the Delmar Module 3 class traveled to the Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center (LCPSTC) with RescueEngine 5-9-1 and Squad 5-9 along with Truck 8-7 (Columbia Consolidated) to meet up with Instructor Erich Broome from Grant Training Resources to drill on Forcible Entry Techniques with the simulators at the Training Center.  The other half of the Refton Volunteers met up with Barry Carter from Shellhamer Emergency Equipment to check out a new Thermal Imaging Camera that the Volunteers are considering to purchase with a grant that they applied for.
