Tuesday, December 24, 2013 - This afternoon at 13:46 Hours, the Refton Volunteers along with numerous other agencies were dispatched as part of the second alarm assignment to assist Company 47 (Paradise-Leaman Place Fire Company) with a working outbuilding fire at 77 Esbenshade Road in Paradise Township.  First arriving units arrived to find a 30 x 50 Two Story Barn fully involved and immediately requested a second alarm assignment.

Tanker 59 (Ibach) made the response in well under three minutes and upon arrival participated in the water shuttle relay already established.  Engine 59-2 (Williams) and Squad 59-1 (Myers, Jr.) with a total staffing of nine responded moments after the Tanker.  On arrival, crews from both pieces were put into the manpower staging pool and assisted with hose management.

Units were in service for just over an hour before being released.
