Thursday, December 27, 2012 - Yesterday afternoon at 15:20 hours, the Refton Volunteers along with multiple other agencies were alerted to assist Company 5 (Strasburg) on a reported Barn Fire at 924 Eisenberger Rd in Strasburg Township.  RescueEngine 59-1 (Adsitt) and Tanker 59 (Hicks) were on the street with full daytime staffing in under two minutes.  Assistant 5 (Stoltzfus, Jr.) arrived on scene with heavy fire blowing through the roof of the structure.  The Beaver Valley Rescue Company was redirected to the pond at Strasburg Pallet Company to set up a Tanker Fill Site.  Tanker 59 arrived on scene and participated in water supply operations on scene.  Squad 59-1 (Rineer) responded later in the incident and assisted with fire suppression operations on scene.

Units operated for just under three hours before clearing.  Special thanks to Engine 58-1 (Rawlinsville) for standing by in our station while the volunteers were out answering the call for service.
