Morning Chimney Fire

Crews from 59 and Quarryville (57) were alerted for a chimney fire at 850 Stivley Rd around 9:30am. First arriving crews found a smoke coming from the chimney. Crews went interior to drop runners and clean out the fire box, they also did auxiliary clean out and removed the stove pipe. Also utilized was the TIC and heat gun to monitor all temperatures on all floors. Smoke ejector was used to ventilate the structure and CO meter was used to monitor interior atmosphere. Truck 57 laddered the structure and took care of the outside operations from the top of the chimney. Home owner was advised to have chimney serviced and cleaned before using again. Units cleared about 30 minutes later.
