Wednesday, September 9, 2015 - Refton Community Fire Company is offering up for sealed bid a 1973 International Harvester/Young Pumper with a brief list of specs below:
1973 International / Young Pumper
1973 International Loadstar 1700 All Wheel Drive Chassis
16,XXX miles as of 09/08/2015
4 speed automatic Allison transmission
500 gallon poly tank
750 g.p.m. Hale front mount single stage pump
Seating for two firefighters
Top end of the motor was rebuilt in 2012/2013
The pump has been rebuilt within the last few years
The pump passed certification the last time tested
Hook up for a Plymovent Exhaust System
Body is in pristine condition for its age
Glasspack mufflers
Owned vehicle since brand new
Some loose equipment may be included with the vehicle, but will be by sole discretion of the Refton Community Fire Company
Known issues with the vehicle:
- Reverse lights/buzzer do not work 100% of the time
- Clearance/marker lights do not work 100% of the time
- Fuel gauge does not work
The vehicle is currently in active service and will stay as such until the arrival of our new Brush Truck (which is anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2015). It is available for inspection at the station; 99 Church Street, Refton, PA 17568. Sealed bids must be received by end of business (5:00 pm) on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 for consideration. The sealed bids will be opened and read at the November business meeting of the Refton Fire Company on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 7:00 pm.

As a courtesy, Refton Fire Company has listed above some of the problems it has so far identified with this vehicle. This list is not based on a comprehensive or detailed inspection, is not based on systematic reviews by past drivers or mechanics and is therefore exhaustive.
Refton Community Fire Company reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids. Payment in full of the winning bid is due on or before time of title transfer of the vehicle. The successful bidder has five (5) business days from being awarded the bid to perform the title transfer and remove the vehicle from the property.
