Engine 1 wins First Place

Friday, September 16, 2011 - 'Tis the season for fairs and harvesting events.  This past week was the Solanco Fair and Parade which is a generations long tradition of the community getting together to welcome fall and celebrate the harvest along with catching up with our neighbors.  This year has been no different.  Every year, on Wednesday Night of the week of the Solanco Fair, there is a ceremonious parade with which the Refton Volunteers always participate.  The parade also includes judging on may different categories.  This year Engine 5-9-1 received First Place in the Emergency Services Category, competing with many other neighboring companies for the grand prize.

Congratulations to the staff that put in long hours to get the Engine ready for the event.  Job Well Done!!!
