Early Morning Barn Fire Assist to QFD

July 23, 2011 - Early this morning at 05:20 hours, while Refton Volunteers were preparing for this mornings monthly Breakfast Fundraiser, they were alerted as well as numerous other companies to assist Station 5-7 (Quarryville) on a Reported Barn Fire behind Maplehofe Dairy, 700 Block of Robert Fulton Highway.  First arriving units reported a fully involved equipment shed with multiple exposures and immediately upgraded the incident to a second alarm assignment.  Tanker 5-9, Engine 5-9-1 and Squad 5-9 all made the response minutes after dispatch.  Upon arrival, Tanker 5-9 assisted with supplying water to the scene and crews from Engine 5-9-1 and Squad 5-9 Assisted with fire suppression operations at the scene.  Engine 5-9-1 and Squad 5-9 operated on the scene for three hours and Tanker 5-9 was on the scene for the duration of the incident.
