Bridge Closing

Sunday, December 18, 2011 - The bridge at the southern intersection of Main Street and Beaver Valley Pike in New Providence (at Ed's Auto Body and Repair) will be closed starting January 3, 2012 until sometime in August 2012.  The bridge is being widened and totally replaced.  The bridge on the other side of Main Street and Beaver Valley Pike (at the northern end) was replaced earlier in 2011 with the same work done.  These upgrades have been long overdue and we are excited to see them happen.

Eventhough the bridge that is being closed at Ed's Body Shop is not in our first due, many Mutual Aid Departments utilize this bridge when they are called for service to assist the Refton Volunteers and we wish to announce this for preplanning purposes.  For our mutual aid, to gain access to the village of New Providence from Beaver Valley Pike, utilize the northern entrance of Main Street at North Old Road.
